DAY 2:  NOTHING IS TOO MESSED UP FOR GOD

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20, ESV

Jesus taught the idea that we didn’t have to have a lot of faith but a little, and a little faith can go a long way. You may be finding yourself in a big mess right now. Financially, emotionally, relationally, spiritually, or all of the above. Your life is a mess. What do you do? You need to look to God and realize you are one third of the way to getting a miracle. The recipe for a miracle is that #1: you need a big problem; #2: a little faith; and #3: a big God.

Most of the time we feel we lack the faith to really see God move, or we can easily feel that we are too messed up to come to God. This is why so many people stay away from church and other Christians; they feel that they have done too many bad things, or messed up too much in life. But that’s simply not true. As we have read in John’s Gospel (chapter 20-21), we have seen how Jesus kept pursuing his disciples despite their sin and stubbornness (Mark 16:14). Despite all the teaching and time that he had spent with disciples and their doubting, denials, and disbelief, he still loved them. You would think that Jesus’ closest disciples would be there at the cross or at the grave or at the empty tomb early in the morning, but no, they weren’t there. Only John was at the cross; the rest of the disciples were in hiding in fear of being arrested for being associated with Jesus. To say the least, the disciples’ relationship to Jesus was messed up. They should have been there for him at the cross, or they should have come to the burial. But they were nowhere to be found. This doesn’t deter Jesus’ love. Why? Because nothing is too messed up for God.

You may say “my life is messed up, more than I could dare to share.” You need to know, friend, that God is in the business of making new what has been messed up. He can take your problem and perform a miracle if you will have the faith to try to follow his plans and purpose for your life. Give God your problems today and believe in Him as your savior. Give him your mess and ask him for a miracle, and follow him no matter what! With God all things are possible!
