High school is a time of growth, both physically and spiritually, and for Elijah Shineman, this has never been more true. “I have grown a lot,” he shares, reflecting on not just the physical aspect—jokingly mentioning he believes he’s grown about five inches—but also the significant development in his spiritual journey. “I have grown so much because of all of the great people here.” One of the highlights of Elijah’s high school experience has been the supportive community he’s found at North Valley. “I love the people, especially my youth pastors,” he says. Their guidance and encouragement have made a profound impact on him and his family. He also mentions the “Fathers In The Field” ministry he’s a part of, describing it as “such a blessing for me and my Mom.”

Elijah’s commitment to serving others in this community has also brought him joy. “Serving has been very fun,” he explains, noting the enjoyment he finds in making points of connection with younger kids. He appreciates the insightful comments they make and the laughter shared during game time.

Speaking more about his involvement in the high school group, Elijah shares, “It’s the best group I have been a part of, and all of the people that attend it I consider family.” His enthusiasm is especially evident when he talks about high school camp, which he eagerly anticipates every year. “It’s my favorite thing to do, and I always look forward to it,” he adds, highlighting the lasting memories and experiences shared with his peers.

Elijah Shineman's journey is a testament to the power of community, faith, and friendship during the transformative high school years. As he continues to grow, there's no doubt he will leave a positive mark on those around him—just as they have on him.
