In her journey of faith, Teresa Hughes has found significant growth, largely thanks to the incredible people at North Valley Church. She shares, “I have been able to grow at North Valley through the people I have met and had relationships with. They have allowed me to feel safe, seen, and accepted while also challenged.” These challenges have proven to be healthy and encouraging, enabling her to dig deeper into God’s word and develop her personal faith.

What truly makes North Valley special for Teresa is the community of people she has come to cherish. “Some of the closest people in my life are from the church, and I am so grateful for that,” she explains. The support of friends who understand and deeply care for her has made a profound difference in her life. Being involved and connected at North Valley has enhanced Teresa’s church experience. She expresses her excitement, stating, “I wake up excited to go to church, sit with my friends, worship, and hear the message every Sunday.”

Additionally, she looks forward to Monday nights spent in community group, where sharing meals and laughter contribute joy to her journey. “Being with these people, discussing the sermon, or simply enjoying each other's company is always a blessing and something I enjoy,” she adds. Teresa’s journey hasn’t always been easy. She reflects, “I had an experience at a previous church that caused significant pain and trauma in my life.” This past experience left her feeling shaken and hesitant to trust others again. However, upon stepping into North Valley, Teresa sensed God nudging her to step out of her comfort zone. “When I listened and joined the young adults' group, it became a place of healing and growth.” In this community, she has found genuine friendships that not only challenge her but also create a sense of safety that she desperately needed.

Teresa is grateful for the blessings and growth she has experienced at North Valley Church and looks forward to continuing her beautiful journey with this supportive community.
