How Consistency and Authenticity Impacts Community
Jesus is so evidently working in and through our church, and connections made through community groups are a true testament to this. Community groups offer a time of fellowship fueled by transparency that can often lead to the groups feeling like family. Today, we want to introduce you to Taylor Wright, who shares her experience of connecting at North Valley through community groups.
Taylor and her husband, Ethan, have been faithfully attending North Valley for about a year and a half. They both have made significant investments of their time and talents and have immeasurable influence through their hearts and humility. Taylor states, "As a believer, I have grown so much by being in a real community more frequently. My husband and I began attending this church about a year and a half. North Valley is the first church where I have been able to quickly find a community group that felt welcoming the moment I walked in the door, and that is something that I truly appreciate about North Valley. The group immediately began to feel like a family! It is amazing to meet mid-week and be honest about where we are in our faith journey, what we are struggling with, and what we are grateful for. There is no expectation to be anything except yourself as we unpack the message from the weekend, how God is working in our lives at the moment, and anything else that comes up. This level of authenticity has been the safest place for me to confess where I fall short and where I need God's grace, through Jesus.
Taylor also serves on our AV team and has this to say regarding her time serving, "I started serving at North Valley last August in the AV tech booth. I knew I wanted to start serving somewhere in the church, and during announcements, they highlighted that they needed more people in a couple of areas, including AV. That same day, I walked to the booth after service to introduce myself. I let them know I had minimal experience, but I love to learn and help wherever they need me. This is another area where I feel I have grown, through North Valley, because I get to serve our Church alongside my husband in our Worship Arts Ministry each week. I love that we get to serve together in an area that focuses on bringing other believers closer to God."
Taylor and Ethan are integral parts of the North Valley family, and we are thrilled that they have felt embraced by the warmth of our community.
