How Genuine Connection Deepened Kyleigh’s Faith
At North Valley, we believe that every individual’s story contributes to the beautiful tapestry of our church family. Today, we’re excited to share the incredible testimony of Kyleigh McClure.
For most of her life, Kyleigh considered herself a Christian—but something was missing. “I used to be the girl who showed up to church and left,” she admits. “I didn’t fully understand what it meant to have a relationship with God. I saw being a Christian more as a religion than a relationship.”
Kyleigh grew up in a Christian household, but her faith didn’t truly become personal until her 20s. “I had a surface-level relationship with God,” she says. “I would serve here and there, but it didn’t feel fulfilling. I wasn’t deeply connected or involved in a community.”
That began to shift when God brought her fiancé, Joshua, into her life—and through him, an invitation to North Valley.
“God knew I needed a deeper relationship with Him,” Kyleigh says. “And He graciously led me to North Valley through Joshua. Ever since then, I’ve felt a sense of belonging, a deeper connection with Jesus, and a growing faith.”
Joshua introduced Kyleigh to the Young Adults group, and that first visit left a lasting impression. “I felt so welcomed—everyone was kind and genuine. I had always craved Godly friendships, and this group blessed me with that. I’ve made so many new friends, and I’m so thankful for how North Valley emphasizes community.”
That sense of connection has continued to grow through her weekly community group. “It’s truly the highlight of my week,” she says. “I’ve been impacted by the God-centered friendships, the deep discussions about sermons and Scripture, and just being with people who also want to grow in their walk with Jesus. I always leave encouraged and with a better understanding of God’s Word.”
Looking back, Kyleigh sees how the pieces came together—not by accident, but by divine direction.
“Being engaged to a Godly man, finding real community, and growing in my relationship with Jesus has transformed everything,” she shares. “This church, these people, and how God is working here—it’s changed my life. I’ve gone from just showing up to truly showing up for my faith.”
