How Intentional Relationships Impact Internal Transformation

At North Valley, we are blessed to witness the journeys of many of our members. One such inspiring story is that of Jody Keeney, who shares her heartfelt testimony about how her time here has enriched her faith and her life. Reflecting on her growth since becoming part of our church family, Jody expresses profound gratitude: “I am constantly reminded of how good God is and how many beautiful people there are in life who don’t judge me.” Her experiences and connections at North Valley have played a significant role in her spiritual journey.

As someone who has been nurturing her faith for a decade, Jody emphasizes her desire to learn more about God. She finds joy in watching her grandkids embrace their faith, saying, “It was so special to see them and others learn more and draw closer to Christ.” The community at North Valley has provided her with the support she needs, and she acknowledges the importance of being surrounded by “incredible prayer warriors” who uplift her faith.

Jody's journey in faith truly began on a memorable Christmas Eve ten years ago, when she surrendered her life to the Lord. She has fond memories of teaching children through Awanas at her former church, an experience that nurtured her own understanding of the faith. However, it wasn’t until she was invited by Todd and Jeri to North Valley that she found her true community. “God knew that I would need the best of the best around me,” she shares, praising the intentionality and compassion that God has shown her through the people she has met.

One of the most impactful aspects of Jody's experience at North Valley has been her involvement in Bible studies. “I never got involved like I have at North Valley,” she reflects, highlighting how these gatherings have deepened her understanding of scripture and strengthened her faith. She believes that serving others is a vital expression of love for God, saying, “I cannot believe the joy I get from serving… It reminds me that ‘it’s Jesus, others, and you.’”

Jody also cherishes the relationships she has forged within the church. “I love meeting new people,” she says, recalling how her openness and willingness to share have encouraged others. It fills her heart with joy and serves as a reminder of the importance of stepping outside ourselves to give to others.

Her journey hasn’t been without challenges, but through her struggles, Jody realizes the profound goodness of God. “I praise God for bringing me to where I am now because my past made me think I could never be there.” She recalls a powerful moment during a service when everyone was encouraged to share their testimonies—stepping up to share her story, she was met with warmth and appreciation, reinforcing her belief in the power of personal testimonies to encourage and inspire others.

Jody Keeney's story is a testament to the ways God can use us and the communities we build to foster spiritual growth and connection. Remember, it’s never too late to deepen your faith and be a source of love and encouragement to those around you.
