TALK IT OVER

Ice Breaker – Share about a recent time you took off that really helped you heal, grow or simply rest?

  1. Today we are looking at Jesus as our God and our Example. Not only is Jesus 100% God, but he is at the same time, 100% human. Looking back on the sermon, what stood out the most? Why?
  2. When you see the videos of people sharing about who they believe Jesus is, what are you thinking? What would you say if someone came and asked you? Take a few minutes to share your own answers.
  3. Take a minute to review some of the biblical passages about Jesus declaring and demonstrating that he was God. Which ones stand out to you the most and why?  **Note to Leaders: Call for volunteers to read some of the passages. See the first few bullet points.**
  4. Not only did we review what Jesus said about himself, as well as, how he declared and demonstrated that he was God, but we also learned about how we can follow his example.
  5. Take a few minutes to read the passage: John 10:40–42, ESV. This is the closing section of John 10. It’s interesting that the Apostle John adds this note. He knew Jesus personally and recorded some important details about his life. He would later write… “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life.” (I John 1:1) Jesus is not only our God and Savior but he’s our example on how to live too!  What can you learn about the passage that we just read?
  6. Pastor Ryan made some meaningful observations about Jesus’s life. Take some time to review the five different reasons Jesus took time to get away. What can we learn?
  7. Take some time to review some of the passages related to the reasons Jesus took time to get away. Which one of those do you most need right now and why?
  8. Take some time to pray for one another.
