TALK IT OVER

Ice Breaker | Have you ever seen something dead that grossed you out? What was it?  Today we’re going to discuss and learn about Jesus’ most important miracles. He raised a dead man to life.

1. Take a minute to read the passage. John 11:17-57, ESV and then  take a minute to review the sermon outline.

2. What stood out to you and why? (Take some time to look up some of the cross references scriptures and ask for volunteers to look up and read)

3. The Apostle Paul tells us to take off the old, and put on the new. What’s that look like for you as a Christian to “Take off the old.”?  Take a minute to look up some of the following passages. (Col. 3:8-9 Heb. 12:1; James 1:21; 1 Pet. 2:1)

4. What’s it look like to “Put on the new!”? Take a few minutes to look up read the passage. Ephesians 4:25-32. Which part of that passage is most convicting to you and why?

5. As a leader. Encourage them. Remind them of God’s great love and grace. Remind them of God’s goodness and how they can rely on the Power of the Holy Spirit in their lives according to Philippians 2:13 “For it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.”

6. Remind them of their salvation. Ephesians 2:8-10… “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

7. Pray for the group, as a leader for their spiritual health and growth as a believer. Pray for the church and our influence to reach the community.

8. Take prayer requests or open it up for personal prayer as needed.
