The Passage
1 Timothy 4:6-16
All throughout the Bible we see examples of leaders pouring into the next Generation.
- Jethro > Moses > Joshua
- Eli > Samuel > David
- Elijah > Elisha
- Barnabas > Paul > Timothy
And the most important/prevalent example:
- Jesus > 12 Disciples
The 3 Things the Next Generation Needs
- Mentoring
Mentors are immeasurably important. They pour into you as you pour into others.
- 2 Timothy 2:2
- Proverbs 27:17
- 1 Cor 11:1
- Philippians 4:9
- Responsibility
We all carry responsibilities. For example (for me: Nate), I have Fathers in the Field ministry, being a man, a leader, husband, father, Christian. These look different for each of us, but we should all approach them as scripture directs.
- 1 Cor 4:1-2
- Luke 16:10
- Encouragement
Due to aspects of social media, negative talk, and pressure, encouragement is not always given. Yet, it should be because “encouragement is the antidote to sin.”
- Joshua 1:7
- Philippians 2:19-21
Challenge/Take away:
- Find a mentor
- Become a mentor
Start serving in kids or students.
- Be the example
Through encouragement and responsibilities
