- Be Strengthened by Grace (v. 1)
- Paul urges Timothy to be strong in Christ’s grace, the foundation for effective ministry.
- Investing in others starts with relying on God’s grace for strength and resilience.
- Application: Encourage all to depend on God’s grace in their challenges. There’s no perfect people or churches!
- Entrust Truth to Faithful People (v. 2)
- Paul instructs Timothy to pass on what he’s learned to reliable individuals who can teach others.
- Discipleship is intentional: invest in those who will multiply the message.
- Application: Identify and mentor individuals in our church/community to carry forward the faith.
- Persevere with Purpose (vv. 3-7)
- Paul uses three analogies (soldier, athlete, farmer) to highlight discipline and perseverance.
- Investing in the next generation requires commitment, even through difficulties.
- Application: Model endurance and purposeful sacrifice to inspire younger believers and help make a difference!
