Co Heirs and Grace Filled Marriages!

"Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered."  1 Peter 3:7

Did you know God called the husband and the wife co-heirs? They are equal with one another.  Loved, created, formed, and fashioned by Him for you.  You are a gift together in this life.  God’s common grace is the grace we find every day.  It’s common.  It’s the sun shining on all, the righteous and the unrighteous.  It’s the health and wealth one receives when working hard or staying physically fit!  It’s the beauty of a child when a man and woman come together to have kids!  This is the grace of life.  Life is filled with common grace, but as believers, we experience God’s special grace.  It’s not so common.  It’s not for everyone, but for those who God has called, those who receive him and call Jesus LORD!  God applies special grace to bring about regeneration and salvation!  It changes the person’s status from spiritual death to life!

And so it is in marriage, there ought to be a life filled with God’s grace everywhere.  In their spiritual life, they will find God’s unending grace.  In physical life, as they move and go about their day, they can look and see signs of God’s grace in providing the rain or clouds on hot days.  Or even just the right parking spot at just the right time!  God’s goodness and grace are everywhere, from the little things to the big things that are good and we enjoy, these can and should be seen as God’s grace.

In the marriage, the husband and the wife can walk through life all the better as they extend grace to one another, love, and laugh together.
